that I have officially lost my mind and am certified crazy...
I finished this project last night at 11p.m. and could not stop giggling...see, crazy!
It is a "Bert" blazer from the jolly holiday scene in Mary Poppins.
It's a size 3 for my precious little nephew who wants to be Bert for Halloween this year.
Yes, I sewed those bias binding strips on to white twill and the jacket is completely lined.
First I ironed wonder under strips on to the bias binding strips - pressed them in placed - and used my precious!!! number 10 foot to edge stitch them in place.
I seriously think it's the cutest thing I've ever sewn!
The actual blazer pattern was a purchased pdf pattern from here
and the idea and direction to guide me through the details from here.
These two sites made the whole project much smoother. The blazer pattern went together perfectly!
I always like a cooperative pattern.
I'll complete my portion of the costume with Kwik Sew elastic-waist white twill pants and a turquoise bow tie. My brother and his wife are in charge of the hat, white shirt, and cane.
Now back to smocking on that little pink dress!
that was alot of work, but turned out awesome! He will love it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jan, yes, it was a bit of work...fun work! :)
